History

SAWLEY PACKAGING Ltd was formed in 1966 in the village of Sawley, Derbyshire.

In 1969 its then parent company, ROLLS ROYCE, moved the operation to an old lace mill on Nottingham Road near the centre of Derby.

The business focused on the supply of packing services and manufacture of packaging containers primarily to Rolls Royce, though in later years it successfully tendered for the supply of similar services to a diverse list of customers.

As part of the DAHER Group strategy to expand its European capability, the company was acquired in September 2003 to become the focus of the DAHER Group’s operations in the UK and its name was changed to DAHER SAWLEY Ltd.

In late 2006, DAHER moved to a new, modern facility in Hilton, 8 miles from the centre of Derby and changed the company name to DAHER Aerospace Ltd.

New facility

In the early hours of 20th January 2007 our new site suffered a catastrophic fire, thankfully nobody was injured however it did mean another move.  In December the company moved into its present facilities in Derby.

Also in December 2007 DAHER acquired LCN, a precision engineering and fabrication company, which has been a supplier to the UK MoD and defence, aerospace and nuclear markets since 1988.
